Preparing students Nursing for future healthcare: Virtual reality in paediatric settings
The VRNURSE4KIDS project - Preparing students Nursing for future healthcare: Virtual reality in paediatric settings (2022-2024) - involves four European higher education institutions (three nursing departments and one department of technology) and one company specialised in the use of Virtual Reality (VR) as digital sedation. As the use of VR is becoming more widespread in health care, it is important that Nursing educators take the lead in integration of innovative health care technologies in Nursing curricula. Therefore, VRNURSE4KIDS aims at increasing knowledge, competences
and skills of (incoming) Nursing students towards VR as well as their intention and acceptance to use VR in clinical practice; it targets at increasing awareness and attention towards VR, not only among Nursing students, but also among Nursing lecturers, involved stakeholders in health care (education) and hospital partners, and simultaneously improving the quality of Nursing education by structurally embedding the VR course in their program and integrating digital competences in the Nursing education.
